Oliver Tank - Yes Please

When I take the time to look for new music on the net I mostly bump into something by accident rather than copying shit from other blogs. This time I got quite frustrated actually reading all those (ambient) blogs with lots of fancy iPhone apps, such as colorful shiny looking dot sequencers making kids happy for ten minutes. Not for people interested in real music. I admit I was quite impressed by the KORG iMS-20 application at the time so don't think I hate new technology. As long as it is creative, which depends more on the user of course rather than the app or instrument itself it is worth trying it right? Anyways I bumped into Oliver Tank emerging from the Sydney wasteland high up into the sky where his musical mind is formed. It was a blessing finding his live performance on this blogpost in particular. I got interested and listened to his other stuff hidden on the web of which I particularly liked 'Past present future' a lot. There's something honest in his songs, pure if you may. You can find his other music through his soundcloud or nice label from down under, on 'yes please' records. Even pressed on wax!
